Local authorities across the UK are increasing their efforts to recycle small waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with a variety of schemes getting underway.

Staff with WEEE collected by West Sussex county councilCouncils including Woking borough, Surrey Heath and Swale borough have made use of the WEEE Local Project Fund, a government-backed subsidy for initiatives to boost WEEE collections, to introduce kerbside small WEEE connections, while the Merseyside Waste and Recycling Authority is attempting to offer incentives for residents to drop off small WEEE at its civic amenity sites.
